Electrolyzed oxidizing water (EOW) is new disinfectant water which is produced by electrolysis. It looks like water, colorless, transparent and without evident irritation and odor. It possesses high oxidizing redox potential (ORP), lower PH values, available chlorine and other oxides. According to scientific reports, EOW have the advantages of wide range for bacteria killing, powerful germicidal efficacy, short treatment time, no corrosive effect on stainless steel, convenient and economical for use. After disinfection, EOW could become as common water, without toxicity and pollution. So it has been named ----Green Bactericidal Disinfectant. Recently, EOW has been used in many fields, such as medicine, foods industry, animal breeding industry, agriculture and public health. Based on the principle of electrolyzing with NaCl, EOW was produced by special machine. So a large amount of investment for equipment and a complex operation was required. At some time, this could limit the application of EOW. For developing and applying a new-style product of EOW, we have cooperated with Xiamen Penglong Science and Technology Development Co.Ltd, and carried out a series studies on the solid disinfectant with oxidizing potential (SDOP). In order to observing the disinfectant's chemical characteristics, germicidal efficacy and influence factors, the ORP readings, pH values, available chlorine content, stability, corrosion and germicidal efficacy have been detected. In these tests, the Escherichia coli, Staphylococcus aureus, Candida albicansans and spores of Bacillus have been used as test organism. In order to clearly understanding the bactericidal mechanism of the new disinfectant, the transmission electron microscope and molecular chemistry technique have been used to observe the changes of ultrastructures, leakage rate of DNA and dipicolinic acid (DPA). This study could offer some scientific proofs for application and establish the theoretical dates for searching and developing new disinfectant. The following are the results of our studies.SDOP was a new disinfectant that characterized by possessing high ORP readings, lower PH values and available chlorine contents. It was packed in two separate units. With a slight corrosive effect and firm chemical stability (54℃ for 14 days , its ORP readings had decreased by 1.55%, the available chlorine content had decreased by 43.66%.), the disinfectant was convenient to be use. All of characteristics of this new disinfectant were similar to those of EOW.SDOP had a better germicidal efficacy. The E. coli, Staphylococcus aurous, Candida albicansans and spores of Bacillus could be completely killed by SDOP with the doses of 45mg/L available chlorine for 10min, 64mg/L for 15min, 100mg/L for 25min, 250mg/L for 20min respectively. The HBsAg could be destroyed by SDOP with the doses of 240mg/L available chlorine for 2min. SDOP could get a good germicidal efficacy to inactive the natural bacteria on the surfaces of various things, and the average killing rate was 93.15%.3. The germicidal efficacy of SDOP was influenced by various factors. The SDOP's killing rate was increased with prolonging of treatment time. The most suitable temperature was 20~30℃, the best pH value was 3~7. And also, the organic matters were playing a great important role in the process of disinfection. So these factors should be considered in practical use. And suitable conditions most be created to bring the germicidal efficacy into full play. The germicidal reaction of SDOP at least included three processes, such as the high oxidizing reduction reaction, the oxidization of available chlorine and biologic environment interference caused by pH values. According to the comprehensive analysis with transmission electron microscope and the regular changes of spores' active component and killing rate, it was believed that during the process of disinfection, the damage of biological activity of bacteria (enzyme or nucleotide) was happened at first, and the structure changes of membrane occurred at later. Th...
