Objective: To investigate the role of serum lipoprotein(a)[LP(a)] in patients with lacunar infarction; And the changes of serum lipoprotein(a) in patients with lacunar infarction combined with hypertention or diabetes mellitus; And the relation between lipoprotein(a) and fibrinogen(FIB) and their clinical significance. Methods: 90 patients with lacunar infarction were selected and determined lipoprotein(a), they are divided into three groups: lacunar infarction group, combined with hypertention group, combined with diabetes mellitus group. 23 health persons as control group. 40 patients with lacunar infarction were selected and to analyse the relation between lipoprotein(a) and fibrinogen. Results: in the patients, lipoprotein(a) were higher than those in the control group(P≤0.05); There was no marked difference among patient groups. It was negative relation between lipoprotein(a) and fibrinogen in lacunar infarction patients. Conclusion: lipoprotein(a) is a risk factor for lacunar infarction and independent of hypertention and diabetes mellitus; lipoprotein(a) and fibrinogen have there own main mechanism in the occurrence and development of lacunar infarction.
