Study Of The Expression Of Serum P21 In Coke Oven Workers

Objective: To detect the expression of serum P21 in coke oven workers and to explore the probability of making this index as screening index of early lung cancer.Methods: 68 coke oven workers were chosed as exposing group and 30 health people without any occupational exposure history of carcinogen were chosed as the control group. Some information was investigated including general information, history of occupational exposure and respiratory disease etc. The vein blood was drawn to determine the expression of serum P2 1 by using Western Blotting .Serum P21 and chronic respiratory disease were_compared between two groups. Some affecting factors of serum P21 and the correlation of the exposed time and serum P21 were analysed.Results: 1. The average scanning area of serum P21 in the control group was 1197.67 andin exposed group was ~10 vears 1416.53, ~15 years 2164.53, ~20 years 2873.30, ~25 years 3302.80 and beyond 25 years 4570.36 respectively.2. The risk factors of increasing serum P21 were the exposed time and pickle foods and the protective factor was fresh fruits.3. 3 cases with positive serum P21 were found in more than 20 years exposed group.4. The incidences of chronic rhinitis and pharyngitis were 33.8% , 23.5% and 13.3%, 6.7% respectively in exposed group and in control group. The differentia between two groups was significant.5. Conclusion: the expression of serum P21 and the incidences of chronic rhinitis and pharyngitis in coke oven workers were higher than general people. Serum P21 was increased with the time prolonged. The exposed timeand pickle foods were suspicious risk factors of increasing serum P21 and fresh fruits was protective factor. Serum P21 may be as screening index of lung cancer in high risk people.
