Objective To investigate the relationship between expression of Cathepsin-D, c-erbB-2 protein, estrogen receptor and progesterone receptor and distant metastasis and prognosis in breast cancer. Methods Detecting Cath-D, c-erbB-2. ER, PR expression in 153 patients with breast cancer by means of immunohistochemistry. Results: Expression of Cathepsin-D and c-erbB-2 protein were inversely correlated with local recurrence distant metastasis and lymph node metastasis. There was positive correlation between ER and local and distant metastasis. The expression of progesterone receptor has no significant association for prognosis. Conclusion 1 , While the expression of Cathepsin-D and c-erbB-2 were positive, the prognosis was worse, While the expression of ER was positive, the prognosis was berrer. 2, Expression of Cathepsin-D, c-erbB-2 protein and ER are independent prognostic indexes to breast cancer prognosis.
