| Rheumatoid arthritis (RA) is a chronic autoimmune disease that affects multiple joints. Early diagnosis is crucial since early therapy with DMARDs reduces the severity of joint damage. Rheumatoid factor (RF) is a very sensitive but poorly specific marker which makes it rather an unsuitable antibody for rheumatoid arthritis. A novel autoantibody, directed to citrullinated antigens in the synovium, seems to provide a new starting point. The autoantibodies can be detected in the blood of the patients with RA years before the first clinical signs are manifest, and high titres appear to correlate strongly with erosive disease. We collected clinical dates which containing 174 RA patients, 61 other rheumatic disease patients and 38 healthy individuals from the third hospital of jilin university. The following RA-relative factors were studied: Anti-ccp antibody, RF, Larsen score, erosive damage of joint and Logistic analysis. The results were described below: the sensitivity and specificity of anti-ccp were 51% and 96%, PPV and NPV were 0.95 and 0.52; the sensitivity and specificity of RF were 74% and 79%, PPV and NPV were 0.86 and 0.63; On the contrary, two... |
