The Traditional Chinese Medicine Literature Study Of Polycystic Ovary Syndrome In Modern Times

Polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS) is one of the ordinary diseases for women. Its symptom is diversified and it can result in many long-dated complications.Under the guidance of Prof.Wang Dongmei, the article which is based on traditional Chinese medicine journals and books in modern times, studies the etiology and pathogenesis of the disease and the laws of treatment. From the history of the name, the etiology and pathogenesis of PCOS, the formula and medicine of treating the disease studies the law of scientific developing.With the aim of showing some useful references for PCOS' etiology and pathogenesis, 113 cases were collected from the traditional Chinese medicine journals and books in modern times. With computer technology, a database of etiology and pathogenesis was founded. At the same time, 206 formulas were gathered from traditional Chinese medicine journals and books used for treating the disease in purpose to offer some useful references for PCOS' treatment. A database of the formulas and medicine was founded with computer technology. Further more, the frequency of herbs was analyzed by statistic method. Besides this the most frequently used herbs were selected too.The last part of the article summarizes the main etiology and pathogenesis of PCOS and poses four basic methods of treating for PCOS.I think they are important principals to treat PCOS, and will direct clinicians well too.
