Objective: To observe the expression of cyclooxygenase-2, vascular endothelia growth factor in oral squamous cell carcinoma and the distribution of micro vessel, then investigate the role of COX-2 in the development and progression of it and explore the relationship between COX-2 and angiogenesis, so as to provide theoretic foundation for prevention, clinic diagnosis and therapy of OSCC.Method : The expression of COX-2 , VEGF , CD34 were examined by immunohistochemistry S-P method in 62 cases of oral squamous cell carcinoma , 10 cases of oral normal mucosa and 12 cases of oral inflammation. Epi Info 6.0 software was used in creation of data file and statistical analyses were carried out with the SPSS10.0 software, the level of significance was set to P ≤ 0.05.Result:1. Expression of COX-2 could detected in oral inflammation and oral squamous cell carcinoma, but hardly in normal oral mucosa. While staining degree of COX-2 was significantly higher in oral squamous cell carcinoma than those in oral inflammation.2. Expression of COX-2 in OSCC has no relation with if s position, size, clinical state and lymph node metastasis. But the expression in cases with low grade was significantly higher than those with high grade.3. We can hardly see expression of VEGF in normal oral mucosa , while strong staining...
