Objective To evaluate the clinical promising of CT virtualbronchoscopy (CTVB) through comparison of CTVB with fiberopticbronchoscopy. Materials and Methods 60 cases of normal group and60 cases of patients, all the objects got 16-row spiral CT (lightspeedultra 16, GE corporation) examination. After thin-row spiral CTvolume scanning was performed, transport the image to a workstation,then reconstruct the source data and image using endoscope software.Results 16-row spiral CTVB could reveal trachea and bronchusclearly to the forth segmental level on normal group. Compared withfiberoptic bronchoscopy, 16-row spiral CTVB could completely revealthe occlusion and malignant stenosis. Conclusion CTVB can revealnormal trachea and bronchus to sub-segmental level. The spaceresolution of CTVB is significantaly lower than that of fiberopticbronchoscopy. CTVB can only be complement to fiberopticbronchoscopy in clinical use.
