The Effect And The Mechanism Of Qianggu Decoction Preventing And Treating Ovariectomized Osteoporosis Rat

OBJECTIVE To investigate the therapeutic mechanism of Qianggu decoction osteoporosis,and its effects on bone metabolism in ovariectomized rat. METHODS The female rats were divided into four groups. A was model group,B was sham operation group,C was Qianggu decoction group,D was positive control group. Four weeks after ovariectomy,groups C,D were treated with relevant drugs for 12 weeks . After finished the treatment, we detected the indexes: BMD, bone bio-mechanics,and the biochemical index in serum(Ca,K,ALP,E2 and BGP) was determined after the rats were given Qianggu decoction ,and were compared with the model group ,the sham operation group and the positive control. RESULTS The Ca,K,ALP,E2 and BGP level in the Qianggu decoction group were obviously higher than that of the model group . The indexes of BMD and bone bio-mechanics CONCLUSION From the results, it can be seen that Qianggu decoction can decrease the activities of osteoclast(OC) and inhibit the bone absorption, simultaneously increase the activities of osteoblast(OB) and promote the bone formation, thus prevent the bone mass loss. So we can say that Qianggu decoction a better prevention and treatment against postmenopausal osteoporosis.
