Objectives: To study the relationship between rennin angiotensin system(RAS) and serum fibrinolytic system in patients with acute coronary syndrome(ACS).Methods: There were three groups in this study. Acute myocardial infarction group(AMI,n=40),Unstable angina group(UA,n=40) and control group(n=40).AngiotensinII(AngII)and plasminogen activator inhibitor-1(PAI-1) levels were measured simultaneously and compared the levels of AngII and PAI-1 in different groups.At the same time,analysed the correlation of AngII and PAI-1 in patients with ACS(n=80).Selected 30 patients in ACS to study the effect of angiotensin-converting enzyme inhibition(ACEI) on PAI-1.There were 15 patients in the ACEI group and received benazepril(10mg/day) .Another 15 patients in the No-ACEI group which had no benazepril.PAI-1 levels were measured after 2-8 weeks to analyse the effect of ACEI on PAI-1.Results:(1)The plasma levels of AngII and PAI-1 in AMI and UA groups increased significant as compared with contral group (P<0.001),moreover,the plasma levels of AngII and PAI-1 in AMI group is much higher than UA group(P<0.001),(2)The level of PAI-1 in plasma increased with the increase of AngII. PAI-1 was positively correlated with AngII(P<0.05,b'=0.457)(3)In the ACEI group,the level of PAI-1 decreased significant as compared with the No-ACEI group after 2-8 weeks(P<0.001).Conclution: There have closed relationship between RAS and fibrinolytic system.RAS involves in the regulation of fibrinolytic function. Short-term interruption of the RAS by ACEI decrease PAI-1.That also certifies this conclution,moreover,that provides the wide perspective in clinical application of ACEI.
