Ye Tianshi ,a famous therapist of Traditional Chinese Medicine in Qing Dynasty, is good at epidemic febrile disease and internal disease. From his extant medical records, we can find that he had formed a rounded thought on Geratology. Although he didn't talk about Gerontology specially, his related thougthts involved almost every aspects on geratology, such as Gerantotherapy Gerontotherapeutics, Health Preservation and Geriatric nursing......Especially on Gerantotherapy, he gave us manyprecious experience. This thesis applied the method of literature arrangement. We picked out part of Ye Tianshi's extant medical records in which the patients were all old people. From the medical records, we tried to summarize Ye Tianshi's geratology academic thoughts. In conclusion ,we found that all of his thoughts were based on senile body constitution. He thought that most of old people were in delicate health. They were deficiency of the primordial vital energy and asthenic gastrosplenic qi. For the reasons, hyperactivity of liver yang was inclined to generate endogenous wind. And when diseases of all the other visceras were too protracted, they were certain to involve eight extra channels. Because of weak constitution of old patients, they couldn't tolerate the desperate remedies, so they should be treated with some mild remedies. For the same reason, they couldn't tolerate the sudden change in the weather, so they should preserve their health conforming with nature. Doctor should treat their asthenic syndromes by tonification. During the process, some medicine come from animals are needed. And a good deit regulation and a sound mind should be kept.
