Preliminary Evaluation Of Biocompatibility And Experimental Study Of Abstract Liquid Of Proplis Treating Oral Ulcer

Objective The aim of this study was to evaluate the biocomparability and to observe the effect of a certain abstract liquid of proplis on rabbit's oral ulcer induced by chemical agent for dental clinic application.Methods According to the relative Chinese medical standards,the cytotoxicity of this proplis was investigated by cell culture in vitro and agar diffusion test and the oral mucous membrane irritation response of this proplis was evaluated on rabbits. Induced oral ulcer on both sides of 10 rabbits' buccal mucous by chemical agent and then observe the effect of a certain abstract liquid of proplis on experimental oral ulcer.Results The results showed the level of this proplis was grade 0 in test of cytotoxicity and the local or systemic abnormal response on rabbits was not observed in the oral mucous membrane irritation test. The size of oral ulcer treated with abstract liquid of proplis was smaller than controlled side.average healing time was shorter than controlled side too.Conclusion This proplis has no cytotoxicity or abnormal oral mucous membrane irritation response .The result from rabbits' oral ulcer treated with abstract liquid of proplis suggested that it could accelerate the healing of experimental oral ulcer and it would be promising.
