Study On Fuzzy Mathematical Diagnostic Cast Of Primary Aldosteronism

Objective: Using fuzzy mathematical principle and approaches to diagnose primary aldosteronism (PA) and aldosteronoma with convenient and economic examinations.Materials and Methods:1 Definition of a certain disease can be considered as a fuzzy concept. Characteristic function of primary aldosteronism is determined according to the epidemiology, clinical manifestation and auxiliary examination of the disease. A suitable domain and its precise membership (membership function) are used to describe the characteristic function.2 Domain selection and membership (membership function) determination: The domain is composed of 9 elements, which are selected based on the related statistical documents. Nine elements include symptoms, laboratory examinations and imageological examinations. Weights and membership (membership function) of the 9 elements are determined on the statistical data and clinical experience. The case, whose weight number sum (∑ weight × membership) exceeding the cut value, is diagnosed primary aldosteronism. Furthermore, if the imageology supports adenoma, the case is diagnosed aldosteronoma.3 Thirty cases suspected adrenopathy are used to evaluate the validity of the diagnostic cast, including sensitivity and specificity.
