| Objective: By observing the therapeutic effects of acupuncture group and blood activating and stasis resolving drugs group at the aspect of limbs functional rehabilitation among patients with cerebral infarction, in order to compare the curative effect. Methods: 90 acute cerebral infarction patients from the encephalopathy center of the 2nd Affiliated Hospital of Guangzhou University of TCM were involved as study subjects for the study. The subjects were randomly allocated to the treatment group (30 cases receiving acupuncture treatment)and control group 1 (30 cases receiving blood activating and stasis resolving drugs) and control group 2 (30 cases receiving foundational treatment). The treatment effects were measured by the Fugl—Meyer scale.Results:1. Comparison of the scores of Fugl-Meyer function (FMA) on Movement The scores of FMA on hands and feet and overall measurement of the three groups before receiving treatments showed no statistical significance (P>0.05), which implied good comparability. The FMA score of hands, feet and overall of the three groups before and after their respective treatment found statistical significance (P<0.01), which implies the scores of all three groups had significantly increased. At the end of the study, the FMA scores on hands, feet and overall of the foundational control group and blood activating and stasis resolving drugs control group were separately compared with the acupuncture group, and all showed statistical significance (P<0.05), and the average scores of the acupuncture group were higher than both of the control groups. The FMA scores on hands, feet and overall of the foundational control group were separately compared with blood activating and stasis resolving drugs control group, and all showed no statistical significance (P>0.05).2. Evaluation of therapeutic effectsAmong the 26 cases of the acupuncture group, 2 were cured, 4 had obvious effect, 16 had effect, 4 had no effect, and the total effective rate was 84.6%. Among the 28 cases of the blood activating and stasis resolving drugs group, none was cured or had obvious effect, 16 cases had effect, 12 had no effect, and the total effective rate was 57.1%. Among the 28 cases in the foundational treatment group, 1 cases were cured, none had obvious effect, 17 had effect, 10 had no effect, and the total effective rate was 64.3%. The cure rate, the obvious effect rate and the total effective rate of the acupuncture group are all higher than the contronl groups, but the analysis of the rank data comparison among the three groups showed no statistical significance (P>0.05).Conclusion: The scores of hands, feet, the whole-body, and the cure rate, the obvious effect rate, and the total effective rate are all higher than the contronl groups. But the evaluation of therapeutic effects still needs further practical research. |
