| Background: The malignant tumor is one of the most serious diseases threatening human life. The chemotherapy is at present its main source of treatment. But because the drug used in chemotherapy somehow lacks selectivity, it has the side effect of damaging the normal cells of human body while it does suppress and kill the tumor cells. From digestive response to marrow suppression, from immunity suppression to systemic reaction, all these are the manifestations of its dark side. In a word, it seriously effects the treating plan and patient's life quality. In recent Years, the acupuncture has played a positive role in reducing chemotherapy's side effect, and has obtained some very good curative effect.Purpose: Through foresighted clinical research, observe the influence of acupuncturing Geshu with electrical stimuli on patients' digestive response, hematology change and KPS grades along and after chemotherapy. Objective and method: Sixty-three Patients who accorded with the chemotherapy standard were selected. With random controlled and single-blind method, we then devided them into 2 grops: Groupâ… , the treatment group, accepted both the treatment of drugs that can most effectively relieve symptoms of chemotherapy's side effects and electrical acupuncture on the Acupoint of Geshu; Groupâ…¡, the comparison group, accepted only the drugs combating chemotherapy's side effects. The acupuncture treatment of Groupâ… started from the first day of chemotherapy, once a day, 7 days as a treatment course. Using the Table of Response to the Toxity of Anti-Tumor Drugs and Table of Karnofasky's (Physical Strength Condition) as evaluation tool, we observed the effect of electric acupuncture on reducing anti-tumor drugs' side effects. The evluation was done both before and after the treatment. All collected data entered a database and was analyzed with the software of SPSS 11.5.Result: Before the treatment there was no obvious difference in all the parameters used in this research between the two groups (P>0.05)(there is comparability). The HGB of both groups reduce remarkably (P<0.01) after the treatment. While the HGB menifested no clear difference in group comparison, the WBC,NEU,PLT and Karnofskyhas of the two groups differed (P<0.05): it was clear that the treatment group had some advantage. With the Ridit analysis, the grades in blood toxicity (WHO) and digestive symptoms (WHO)of both groups condierably all raised after chemotherapy (P<0.05). Though no obvious difference existed in digestive symptom grading, difference between the two groups was discovered in the grading of blood toxity (P<0.05): the treatment group again bettered. Conclusion: 1. electric acupuncture on the Acupoint of Geshu can reduce the blood toxicity caused by chemotherapy medicine, can suppress the dropping of blood WBC, NEU, the PLT after chemotherapy, but it has no effect on HOB; 2. Electrical Acupuncture on the Acupoint of Geshu can improve the patient's Karnofsky physical strength condition; 3. Electrical Acupuncture on the Acupoint of Geshu has no obvious effect in relieving the digestive symtoms such as nausea and vomitting. 4. Acupuncture combining with medcine could reduce the chemotherapy's side effect. The effect of this apporach surpasses the pure medicine group. |
