The Establishment And Application Of Nursing Occupational Risk Assessment Tool

Objective1. To develop the'Nursing Occupational Risk Assessment Questionnaire'2. To apply the'Nursing Occupational Risk Assessment Questionnaire'in Fujian nurses'professional hazards status survey.Methods1. Through structured interviews, the Delphi letter with the law, 450 cases of sample pre-survey researched the'Nursing Occupational Risk Assessment Questionnaire'which had good reliability, content validity and construct validity.2. Using homemade'Nursing Occupational Risk Assessment Questionnaire'and purposive stratified sampling method chose 2,142 clinical nurses from 3 provincial hospitals and 7 municipal hospitals in Fujian province from June 2006 to December 2006. Collected Hospital nurses at all levels general information on the nursing occupational hazards frequency and consequences. Using descriptive statistics, analysis of variance, t-test, correspondence analysis, homogeneity, and etc. statistical method analyzed Fujian nursing major occupational hazard status.Results1. Preliminary designed'Nursing Occupational Risk Assessment Questionnaire'based on the classification of ILO Occupational Safety and Health Information Center (ILO--CIS) International Database of nursing occupational risk factors and risk management theory. The investigation results showed that this questionnaire Cronbach'a coefficient of 0.9496, Equal-length Spearman-Brown reliability coefficients : 0.8175. Unequal-length Spearman-Brown reliability coefficients: 0.8175. Guttman Split-half reliability coefficient of: 0.8169. Retest reliability all entries Kappa >0.7, ICC >0.8. Experts assessed the questionnaire CVI index for the average: 0.9462. All entry and its constituent part of the total score correlation coefficient >0.5. Factor analysis showed the five main factors, the two different part of the accumulated rate of 63.617% and 60.876%. 2. The Fujian nursing occupational hazards status of the survey showed the average total occupational risk index was 321.31. All kinds of hazards the average index was 11.08 and was not allowed to risk. Human ergonomics, and psycho-social, organizational hazard risk index was 99.76, 31% of total occupational risk index. The average hazard risk was 14.2521. 5 second grade risks and 14 third risks in all of 29 different hazards. Four former human ergonomics, psycho-social, organizational hazard risk are Second risks'Because of the frequent shifts and night shifts and overtime caused by physical damage, psychological pressure, family disharmony'was highest risk, 16.27.'Needlestick injury'risks index score was15.00, ranked number five. 5-19 years of age in nursing work had the highest scores on various occupational risk perception, Nurse Risk Perception Index score was significantly higher than that of other titles nurses. Different qualifications of the nurses the Risk Index scores had significant difference. Operating room, emergency room, ICU where nurses risk index score were above the ward nurses, second hospitals and the risk index was higher than third hospitals risk index.Conclusions1.'Nursing occupational risk assessment questionnaire'could represent the theme, and had relevance of the theme, a good ability to reflect the conceptual framework, time-stability surveyed reliability.2. The first Fujian nursing occupational hazards was human ergonomics, psycho-social, organizational, occupational hazards. The second was biological occupational hazards.The nurses had different types of vocational risk perception in different level of hospitals.
