Study On Immunomodulatory Effects Of Lactoferrin

Lactoferrin,a functional component,is rich in colostrums.Lactoferrin has many biological functions.Such as immune-modulating,enhancement of iron transport and absorption,promotion of balanced intestinal flora,broad-spectrum antibacterial,antioxidant,anti-inflammatory, antiviral and anticancer properties etc.Lactoferrin as a functional ingredient in some fields such as food and medicine have wide applying and developing prospects.In vitro research,M TT method was used to observed the influence of lactoferrin on the lymphoproliferation activity of peripheral blood mononuclear cells and spleen cells.The result showed that the growth of lymphocytes T,B-cell were inhibit by Lf and the effet depend on quantity of the dose.Nevertheless,the test in vivo showed that Lf could significantly improve the index of spleen and thymic on immunocompromised mice,has protective effect on the intensity of DTH reaction,furthermor it could enhance macrophage engulfing carbon granula ability and significantly enhance the immunocompromised mouse antibody-secreting cell function and improve the content of serum hemoglobin solution.The research of cytokine showed that the transformation action of lymphocyte and the level of IL - 2 were increased evidently.The best concentriction is 1mg/ml.As Lf was intragastric administrated 3 hours later the excretion of IL-4,IL-6 were suppressioned and the excretion of IL-10,TNF were stimulated.The results suggested that Lf had immunomodulation on immunity of the mice.
