| Gesneriaceae as a medium-large familiy, including 150 genus about 3700 species, is mainly distributed in southern and eastern Asia, Africa, southern Europe, Oceania, South America to Mexico's tropical and temperate regions, only two species of distribution in Southern of North America and northern of South America. There are rich wild Gesneriaceae species in China, including 58 genuses about 463 species, of which 27 genus about 375 species were only distributed in China, 3 species as delicious edible wild herbs and 100 species as folk medicine.Gesneriaceae are distributed very limited, ulterior and different in flowering period. The majority of species collection is very difficult. In China Gesneriaceae species, about 25% genus and 30% species, have not been named and collected until the 1950s. The process are extension, too.New species or genus are discovered continuously now, and these discovery promoted that the field in classification, phytochemistry, chromosomes and genetic, tissue culture and species cultivation of familiy become a focus of investigation. More than 100 species as herbal medicines have also become the hot spots of exploration and search for leading compounds.Secondary metabolites in flora is the natural selection results in evolutionary process. It closely correlates with the level of evolution and the plant genetic relationship. Secondary metabolites will be usful to solve the difficult in classic classification, and to search new active compounds inGesneriaceae. The phytochemistry and bioassay of Corallodiscus kingianus and Aeschynanthus mengxinggens were studied. 20 compounds were isolated and identified using MS, 1H-NMR, 13C-NMR, DEPT135, HMQC and HMBC spectrum, that is, AM-01, AM-02, AM-13, AM-04, AM-07, AM-09, AM-05, AM-11, AM-15, AM-17, AM-08, AM-06, CK-01, CK-02, CK-03, CK-04, CK-05, CK-07 and CK-09,including triterpene, sesquiterpene, sterol and fatty acid.Triterpene may be a kind of the typic compounds of A. mengxinggensis for the chemical taxology.Using GC-MS to analyze the chemical composition of the fatty fraction of Corallodiscus kingianus, Aeschynanthus mengxinggens and Amillaria mellea, and more than 90 compounds were identificated. Finally, a review on the Gesneriaceae plants wassummarized. |
