Study Of Analyzing The Edema Medical Records Of Contemporary Famous Physicians Of TCM With Data Mining

Objective:Analyzed the edema medical records of 16 contemporary famous physicians of TCM with Data mining(DM)technique to learn and inherit their experiences and knowledge on edema disease.And applied the first using of data mining technology in reorganization and inheritance of academic experience of famous Chinese medical experts to search a new method for the medical records study in the future.Methods:125 edema medical records from 16 contemporary famous physicians of TCM were collected and parsed.And then were inputed into the special medical case database.All collected medical records were analyzed with the analysis platform of DM to mine the common experience of the above 16 experts and the individual experience of each of them on the clinical understanding of the edema disease,especially their points on etiology and pathogenesis and their experiences on prescription。The analysis platform of DM was established by professor Ren Tingge and hers team come from Beijing University of Traditional Chinese Medicine.Results:1.The common experience of 16 experts on diagnosis and treatment of edema.(1).According to global analysis of 125 medical records of the edema disease,we find that all of the 16 contemporary famous physicians hold accordant opinion on location of edema disease as renal(33.92%),spleen(26.87%),lung(15.86%)and the triple warmer mainly(5.28%).This recognition was consistent with physicians of past generations.(2).The common pathogeny:water and dampness 16(29.08%):asthenia of healthy energy caused by invalidism,13(23.64%):endogenous pathogenic cold,6(10.91%):pathogenic wind(including wind-chill and wind-Heat), 6(10.91%):blood stasis,4(7.27%).(3).Commonly used herbs:the herbs most frequently used are pora cocos,astragalus,atractylodes,rnizoma alismatis,rhizomeo frehmannia peel,lanceolata,cortex moutan.Their main efficacy are enforcing spleen, nourishing kidney and invigorating qi,and some are used to activate blood and eliminating dampness.(4).The result of pathogenic analysis:(1)Root deficiency:the percentage of yang deficiency is 12.95%;yin deficiency is 9.36%,and qi deficiency is 7.55%,therefore,we can think that the pathogenic of root deficiency in the edema disease is insufficiency of yang-qi mainly, and yin deficiency is also impointant.(2)Branch excess:the proportion of damp-heat is 14.02%:excessive fluid together with phlegm dampness is 9.71%;blood stasis is 7.20%;wind evil invading lung/assault body surfaceis invading lung is 11.87%.The result show that the mainly pathogenic of branch excess in the edema disease are damp-heat,wind evil, turbid dampness and blood stasis.(5).Main syndrome and its commonly used herbs,common symptoms and signs:To analyse the herbs in those prescriptions which were used in the treating edema disease.The prescriptions have been divided into two group,one is root deficiency group,inclding spleen qi deficiency syndrome, renal qi deficiency syndrome,yang-deficiency syndrome and yin-deficiency syndrome.Another is branch excess group,including damp-heat syndrome,excessive fluid together with phlegm dampness syndrome,wind evil invading lung/assault body surfaceis syndrome and blood stasis group.Through the above analysis,we obtained the common experience of 16 physicians about the edema disease in the location,etiology,pathogenesis, syndrome differentiation,the election administration,and other aspects.2.The individual experience of 16 experts on diagnosis and treatment of edemaAccording to applying data diming independently,we found out the mainly syndromes,and then to analysis these syndromes,concluded commonly used herbs,as well as symptoms and signs.Through analysis,we can accessed the initial personality experience of these physicians in the treatment of edema disease.Conclusion:Through the use of technology of DM,we can analysis the medical records from many-sided and different aspects,and are able to conduct some more objective conclusions,which will be have guiding significance in clinical work.Meanwhile it was improved that the technology of DM have a highly practical value in the work of inheriting and developing the academic experience of famous physicians of TCM.Based on the analysis of medical records of edema disease,we can obtain generality and individuality experience from many physicians of TCM,including the disease location,etiology,pathogenesis,distribution of syndrome,herbs selection,and other aspects.These can be used in clinical work of future.
