Objective:To set up and verify the finite element(FE) model of hummers in children and analyze the injury mechanisms of the extension type of supracondylar humerus fracture and cubitus varus.Methods:A humerus of four-year-old child was scanned by CT with 1.25mm interval.And deal the CT image(DICOM) with MIMICS to form 3-dimentional model.then put the model into HYPERMESH software to build up FEM.Finally input it into the ANSYS software to simulate different circumstance,put different amount and direction load on the model to analyze the stress distribution.Results:â‘ The model keep coincidence with the date of experiment in vitro.â‘¡A clear junctional zone could be found on the supracondylar humerus.â‘¢the stress of ulnaris is larger than the radialis.Conclusions:â‘ The model is ture and could be used in the next analysys.â‘¡The experiement demonstrate vividely that location of the supracondylar humerus fracture is junctional zone of cancellated bone with os integumentale and the shape of humerus.â‘¢Damage of ulnaris larger than the radialis is the basic factor of cubitus varus.
