| Background and objective:Phyllodes Tumor of Breast is a rare tumor in clinical, Despite the increasing recognition of the tumor in recent years, its clinical action, imaging, pathologic features, diagnosis and therapeutic algorithm remain unclear. This study was designed to discuss the clinical, imaging and pathologic features, diagnosis, treatment and prognosis of phyllodes tumor of breast.Methods:12 patients with Phyllodes Tumor of Breast were analyzed. All the patients who were treated in the first affiliated hospital,College of medicine, Zhejiang University from January 2004 to December 2007.Then we reviewed the related literatures, and retrospectively analyzed the date. Results:Of the 12 cases of phyllodes tumor, the average age was 44.Among all the patients, there were 9 benign cases,3 patients received local excision,4 patients received extensive local excision,3 patients received simple mastectomy of breast;there were 2 borderline cases, received extensive local excision;there was 1 malignant case, received simple mastectomy of breast. No patient was treated with modified radical operation or radiotherapy after the operation.Follow-up was obtained for 10 cases, with an average of 17 months(8-33 months). Two patients suffered from local recurrence, the local recurrent rates was 16.6%(2/12).One patient had metastasis, was pulmonary metastasis. Conclusions:Phyllodes tumor of breast was often confirmed by the postoperative pathological examination,Lumpectomy was not suggested for the high local recurrent rate.Extensive local excision and simple mastectomy of breast are suggested.Axillary dissection was not recommended routinely for low lymph node positive rate. The prognosis was relatively good and distant metastasis was the major factor that affected survival. |
