Research On Curative Effect And Regulation Mechanism Of TNF-α And IL-3 Of Myelodysplastic Syndrome-Refractory Anemia By Invigorating Kidney And Tonifying Marrow Method

Objective: To observe clinical therapeutic effect of invigorating kidney and tonifying marrow method on myelodysplastic syndrome-refractory (MDS-RA) anmia and regulation of TNF-αand IL-3 in peripheral blood; to discuss working mechanisims of invigorating kidney and tonifying marrow method. Methods: 28 cases of MDS-RA were randomly divided into two groups. The treatment group, 16 cases, was treated with invigorating kidney and tonifying marrow method, and the control group, 12 cases, was treated with Stanozolol and All-trans retinoic acid. The clinical effects were then observed. Hematopoiesis regulation factors of TNF-αand IL-3 in patients'serum were detected by ELISA before and after the treatment respectively. 10 cases of peripheral blood samples from healthy volunteers were also collected as normal controls. Results: (1) The total effective rate of the treatment group reaches 75.00%, while that of the control group reaches 41.67%, showing no significantly difference between the two groups(P<0.05). The invigorating kidney and tonifying marrow herbs were able to enhance levels of HGB in peripheral blood of patients with MDS-RA (P<0.05), and has less side effect compared with that of control group (P<0.01). Clinical symptoms were also improved greatly by the treatment (P<0.05). (2) The level of TNF-αwas higher significantly in treatment group than that in normal controls (P<0.01), and decreased evidently after the therapy (P<0.05). While the level of IL-3 was lower obviously in the treatment group than that in normal controls (P<0.01), and increased evidently after the treatment (P<0.01). Conclusion: There exists pathological mechanism of immune disorder mediated by hematopoiesis regulation factors in patients with MDS-RA. The invigorating kidney and tonifying marrow herbs not only have good clinical effect on MDS-RA, but also have the ability to improve patients'clinical symptoms. In addition, it can regulate the disorded immune status by decreasing the level of TNF-αand increasing that of IL-3 in peripheral blood of the patients. It is speculated that the mechanism of the curative effect of invigorating kidney and tonifying marrow method may be related with its capability of regulating the level of hematopoiesis cytokines.
