The Clinical Study Of Jieyu Decoction On Depression

Based on years of experience that my supervisor has gained in treating depression and with my review of all the documents, this thesis regards the stagnation of the circulation of liver's vital energy and overtaxing one's nerves is the main pathogenesis of the depression. Thus the therap eutic principle is to soothe liver and relieve uneasiness of body and mind. Here jieyuqingxinanshen decoction is worked out for the disease and its clinical curative effect is carefully observed. In the clinical study, 40 patients with depression are randomly divided into two groups: jieyuqingxinanshen decoction treating group (20 cases) and xiaoyao decoction control group (20 cases), they were treated for 4 weeks, and the treating group was kept on treating for 12 weeks. All the 40 cases observed are diagnosed according to the diagnostic standard of depression of CCMD-III and DSM-â…£.The clinical result shows that total effective rate is 90% in treating group and 60% in control group; The effective rate on Anxiety neurosis is 87.5% in treating group and 20% in control group; The effective rate on Sleep disorders is 57.2% in treating group and 22.4% in control group .That proves the jieyuqingxinanshen decoction has better effect than xiaoyao decoction control group.Comparison within the group shows that the disease needs at least 12 weeks treatment. The research also shows that compared with the xiaoyao decoction, jieyuqingxinanshen decoction has far more curative effects for depression, anxiety neurosis and sleep disorders. And the clinical effectiveness proves that jieyuqingxinanshen decoction is a good prescription for depression.No abnormal reaction is occurred in the safety index test conducted before and after the treatment. The research result proves the sound curative effect of Jieyu decoction for depression.
