The Clinical And Animal's Morphology And Ethology Study Of Jieyu Decoction On Treating Depression

Based on systematically review of past dynasties and tutor's many years clinical experience, the theory that the stagnation of the circulation of liver's vital energy and overtax one's nerves is the main pathogenesis of the depression was put forward. Thus the therapeutic principle should be soothe liver and relieve uneasiness of body and mind. In clinical study, 80 patients with depression were randomly divided into two groups: jieyu decoction treating group(50 cases) and baiyoujie pill's control group(30 cases).All the 80 cases observed were diagnosed according to the diagnostic standard of depression of CCMD-â…¢.The clinical result showed that total effective rate was 74.00% in treating group and 76.67% in control group. That proved the jieyu decoction has good effect as well as baiyoujie pill and has no toxic and side effect. Jieyu decoction has evident effects in curing the patients' clinical symptoms and reducing the scores of HAMD and SDS. The research supplied a new way of the treatment of depression. The animal experiment has confirmed that jieyu decoction has notable effects on improving the blepharoptosis, stupor and the movement of the model mouse. At the same time, jieyu decoction could enhance the horizontal movement, the escaping successfully times and shorten the escaping incubation period of the model mouse. According to the principle of the model, it pointed out that jieyu decoction could improve the function of the central neurotransmitter of the model mouse.
