| Object An exploration on the pertinency between fungi infection and rhinosinusitis and nasal polyps. Methods From June 2007 to June 2008, 100 cases of rhinosinusitis with nasal polyps, 100 cases of rhinosinusitis without nasal polyps, were chosen for this purpose. Randomly, a normal group of 50 cases of valunteers from clinic were chosen for this purpose. Respectively mucous membrance tissue was taken from polyps, from maxillary sinus, from mucous membrane tissue inner sinus cavity, and from uncinate process, for pathology study with Gomoris colouration and with observation under microscope to test for fungi. Results The first group the rate is 26% (26/100); the second, 19% (19/100), the third, 18% (9/50). Statistic analysis later shows that there is no signicant pertinency between them. Conclusion There is no obvious relationship between fungi infection and rhinosinusitis and nasal polyps. Data also shows that compared with cities along the coastal areas, incidence in Xinjiang Region is on the lower side. |
