| ObjectiveAt present, the administration route of nasal glucocorticoids in the treatment of chronic sinusitis tends to be explored in patients with endoscopic sinus surgery, and there is no optimal scheme for the application of conservative treatment in patients with chronic sinusitis without nasal polyps. The objective of this study was to compare the effects of different nasal hormone interventions in the conservative management of patients with chronic sinusitis without nasal polyps.MethodsThis is a randomized, prospective clinical trial.Seventy-seven adult patients with chronic rhinosinusitis without nasal polyps meeting the inclusion criteria were randomly divided into three groups: Group A: budesonide nasal spray plus normal saline nasal irrigation, group B: budesonide nasal irrigation plus normal saline nasal irrigation, and group C: budesonide nasal irrigation plus budesonide nasal spray, all of which were given treatment for 12 weeks. The main outcome was visual analog scale(VAS)before and after treatment. The secondary outcome measure was the Lund-Kennedy score under nasal endoscope before and after treatment.ResultsA total of 74 patients completed 12 weeks of follow-up.(1)VAS score: At 4 weeks and 8 weeks, there was no statistical significance among the three groups(P>0.05);At 12 weeks, the score of group C was lower than group A,and the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).There was no statistical significance between group A and group B and between group B and group C(P>0.05).(2)Lund-Kennedy score: At 4 weeks, there was no significant difference in Lund-Kennedy score between the three groups(P>0.05).At 8 weeks, the score of group C was lower than that of group A,with statistical significance(P<0.05),but there was no statistical significance between group A and group B,and between group B and group C(P>0.05).At 12 weeks, the score of group C was lower than that of group B,and the score of group B was lower than that of group A,with statistical significance(P<0.05).Conclusion(1)Glucocorticoid nasal spray and glucocorticoid nasal irrigation are effective in the treatment of chronic sinusitis without nasal polyps.(2)Glucocorticoid nasal irrigation is better than glucocorticoid nasal spray in the treatment of patients with chronic sinusitis without nasal polyps.(3)The combination of glucocorticoid nasal spray and glucocorticoid nasal irrigation has the best therapeutic effect on patients with chronic sinusitis without nasal polyps.Budesonide nasal spray and normal saline nasal irrigation, budesonide saline nasal irrigation and normal saline nasal irrigation, budesonide nasal spray and budesonide saline nasal irrigation are effective in the treatment of chronic rhinosinusitis without nasal polyps. |
