Acne vulgaris is a chronic inflammatory disease of sebaceous follicles, which has a large patient group and is commonly seen in clinic. In traditional chinese medicine, acne belongs to"fei feng fen ci". Ancient works had recorded that getting wind, wet, cold, heat, poison, or blood stagnated were causing factors. In Ming and Qing dynasty, the lung and stomach organs were often blamed for acne's occurrence. For Lung-Qi was unclean, and getting the causing factors we had mentioned above, that makes blood retarded or damp-heat accumulating endogenous. The rule of treating method is removing heat and damp, cooling blood and promoting its circulation.The thesis introduces Prof.Qian's experiences in treating acne vulgaris. Prof.Qian is a dermatologic specialist, learning from Zhao Bingnan, one of the most famous experts in dermo-surgery. Prof.Qian has been engaged in clinical career for more than 40 years. She regards the excess of Yang,the accumulation of heat in Lungs that can't release, getting wind pathogen; or deficiency of spleen-stomach,addicting to hot-spicy,fat,sweet foods make damp-heat combined, phlegm-water pathogen held inside, blood stagnated, each of those could make acne happened. Heat,damp,blood retardation are the mainly causing factors. Lung and stomach have a highly relevant to the occurrence of acne among Zang-fu organs. Most cases are treated from the angles of damp-heat in the Lungs and stomach,endogenous retention of phlegm-blood.And she use the method of removing heat from lungs and stomach, removing damp by strengthening the spleen, cooling blood and promoting its circulation. The recipe she chooses ,according not to the skin lesions'shapes,colors only, but the concept of holism that is always considered first, and usually gets satisfying curative effect.
