| Objective:To observed the effects of acupuncture reinforcing-reducing methods combined with western medicine on allergic rhinitis, investigate the differences in efficacy among acupuncture reinforcing-reducing methods combined with western medicine and acupuncture needles stay combined with western medicine and single western medicine.Provide new ideas and methods for the treatment of allergic rhinitis. Methods:Diagnostic standards are as defined by the ENT division of the Chinese Medical Association in 1997.Types of AR symptoms in Chinese medicine are classified by Nation' s Chinese Medicine Association in June of 1996.The experiment consists of a test group and 2 control groups.Patients in test group were treated with acupuncture reinforcing-reducing methods combined with western medicine, while those in the control group 1 received the treatment of acupuncture needles stay combined with western medicine and in the control group 2 received the treatment of single western medicine. Acupuncture once every two days, three times a week;Western medicine by oral one time a day.Three is a treatment course, altogether 1 treatment course. Results:Patients' symptoms score and signs score were recorded, staged, and scored in all 3 groups(Test,Control land Control 2).There are differences (p<0.05)of symptoms score, signs score, total score between the Test group, Control 1 group and Control 2 group before and after one treatment course. After treatment, there is no statistical difference between(p>0.05)the test group and Control 1 group, but there is difference(p<0.05)between the test group and Control 1 group,Control 1 group and Control 2 group. At the end of the treatment, the test group had 11 patients resulting in good results,15 satisfactory results and 4 with no improvement at all, attaining an overall effectiveness of 86.7%.Control 1 group had 8 patients resulting in good results,16 were satisfactory and 6 with no improvement, attaining an overall effectiveness of 80.0%.As for Control 2 group,6 patients resulting in good results,14 were satisfactory and 9 with no improvement at, attaining an overall effectiveness of 69.0%.The effectiveness of the test group and Control 1 group is better that of the Control 2 group, while the test group and Control 1 group had no significant difference. But the significant efficiency of the test group is better that of the control groups.Six months after treatment, the test group had 7 patients maintaining good results,8 were satisfactory and 5 had no improvement, attaining an overall effectiveness of 75%.Control 1 group had 6 patients who maintained good results,8 were satisfactory and 7 with no improvement, attaining an overall effectiveness of 66.7%.As for Control 2 group,3 patients maintained good results,8 were satisfactory and 9 had no improvement, attaining an over effectiveness of 55.0%.The effectiveness and the significant efficiency of the test group are better than that of the control groups. Conclusion:acupuncture combined with western medicine can greatly increase the effectiveness in the treatment of AR.The test group and the Control 1 group had significantly better result than the Control 2 group in this experiment. After treatment, the test group had better result than the Control 2 in significant efficiency though there are overall effectiveness had no significant difference. But after 6 months of the treatment, the effectiveness of the test group are better than the Control 1 group, and the significant efficiency can maintain better than the Control 1 group. We found that acupuncture reinforcing-reducing methods combined with western medicine yield positive and statistically better result than any one of the applications when treating AR. |
