| Objectives: Esophageal carcinoma, which influences the healthy of human beings, is a common malignant tumor of digestive system. China is a high-incidence country of esophageal cancer, especially in southern Hebei and northern Henan province. Its morbidity and mortality are considered to be the highest in the world. For this reason, it is especially important to study the mechanism of esophageal cancer occurrence, so as to prevent or treat it effectively in the region. Studies indicate that the carcinogenesis of esophageal epithelium is a result of long-term cooperation of activations of oncogenes with inhibitions of anti-oncogenes. Now we know that MT-3 gene encodes metallothionein-3 (MT-3) in cells, which not only have many important physiological functions, but also inhibit cell proliferation. Reverse transcription- polymerase chain reaction (RT-PCR ) were employed in this study to detect the mRNA expression of MT-1E,MT-2A and MT-3 gene in fresh esophageal tissue with the aim to elucidate the relationship of mRNA expression between MT-3 gene and MT-1E, MT-2A, and to explore the relationship of mRNA expression between MT-1E, MT-2A, and MT-3 gene in tissues of esophageal carcinoma. At the same time, the relationship of mRNA expression between MT-1E, MT-2A, and MT-3 gene and clinopathological parameters were analysed.Methods:1 Twenty-five fresh samples of tumor tissues and normal tissues from corresponding margin resected in our hospital between 2008 May and July were collected.2 RT-PCR was employed to detect their mRNA expression of MT-1E,MT-2A,MT-3 gene.3 SPSS13.0 statistical software was employed to statistical analysis of the date. Analyzing the relationship between MT-1E,MT-2A,MT-3 gene mRNA expression and clinical and pathological parameters.Results:1 MT-1E gene mRNA expression between tumor tissues and tissues from corresponding margin was statistical analyzed P>0.05(P=0.211).There is no statistical significance .2 MT-2A gene mRNA expression between tumor tissues and tissues from corresponding margin was statistical analyzed P>0.05(P=0.714).There is no statistical significance .3 MT-3 gene mRNA expression between tumor tissues and tissues from corresponding margin was statistical analyzed P<0.05(P=0.017).There is statistical significance .4 Statistics analysis between MT-1E gene mRNA expression and MT-3 gene mRNA expression in tumor tissues is statistical significance P<0.05(P=0.003). 5 Statistics analysis between MT-2A gene mRNA expression and MT-3 gene mRNA expression in tumor tissues is statistical significance P<0.05(P=0.000).6 Statistics analysis between MT-1E gene mRNA expression and MT-2A gene mRNA expression in tumor tissues is no statistical significance P>0.05(P=0.318).7 Statistics analysis between MT-1E gene mRNA expression and MT-3 gene mRNA expression in normal tissues from margin is statistical significance P<0.05(P=0.019).8 Statistics analysis between MT-2A gene mRNA expression and MT-3 gene mRNA expression in normal tissues from margin is statistical significance P<0.05(P=0.008).9 Statistics analysis between MT-1E gene mRNA expression and MT-2A gene mRNA expression in normal tissues from margin is no statistical significance P>0.05(P=0.766).10 There is no relationship between MT-1E,MT-2A,MT-3 gene mRNA expression and clinical and pathological parameters(gender, the tumor stage, differential grade, depth of tumor invasion).(All P>0.05)Conclusion:1 There is no statistical significance between MT-1E gene mRNA expression in tumor tissues and tissues from corresponding margin.
