Objective:We sought to study the analgesic effect of postoperative local anesthesia with infusion 0.25%ropivacaine from subcutaneous catheter on postoperative pain after thyroidectomy and hernioplasty.Method:42 patients were enrolled in a randomized, controlled trial. They were randomized in 4 groups:group T1 and H1 received infiltration of 0.25%ropivacaine from subcutaneous catheter every four hours;group To and H0 received nothing. Postoperative painwas scored at 4h,8h,12h,16h,20h,24h,28h,32h,36h, 40h,44h,48h on visual analogue scale(VAS 0-100 mm).We record in patients with respiratory, blood pressure, heart rate, nausea and vomiting, etc.Ropivacaine was used as rescue analgesic medicine.Result:There was no significant difference between groups after thyroidectomy.VAS pain scores were significantly lower in group H1 vs H0 after hernioplasty.(8h:2.67±1.15 vs 7.00±1.79,p=0.01;12h:2.67±1.15 vs 7.00±2.24,p=0.02;16h:3.00±1.00 vs 5.60±1.67, p= 0.05;20h:2.67±0.58 vs 6.20±1.48,p=0.01;28h:1.00±1.00 vs 4.80±1.79, p=0.02;32h:1.33±0.58 vs 5.00±1.00,p=0.001;36h:1.33±1.15 vs 4.80±1.30, p=0.009;40h:1.00±1.00 vs 4.40±1.14,p=0.05).Conclusion:Ropivacaine shows significant favourable effects on postoperative pain from subcutaneous catheter after hernioplasty.
