Research On The Mechanism For The Prevention And Treatment Effect Of Tiaozhitang To Hyperlipidemia-Induced Atherosclerosis

Objectives:Explore the mechanism for the prevention and treatment effect of Tiaozhitang to hyperlipidemia-induced atherosclerosis for the clinical application of the drug to provide a reliable experimental evidence.Methods:Forty New Zealand rabbit(equally divided between male and female,weighted 1.9-2.1 kg,aged 4months) were randomly and equally divided into four groups.They are blank control group,model control group,Tiaozhitang group and simvastatin group.Except the blank control group feeding with normal diet(150g/d),other groups were fed with lipid-rich diet(150g/d)for 6 consecutive weeks before giving medicine.And at the end of 6^th week,we test the level of TG,TC,LDL-C in serum of rabbit.In the following 6 weeks each group of rabbits were given corresponding medicines and diet for 6 weeks.At the weekend of 12^th,first, we test the level of TG,TC,LDL-C in serum of rabbit again.Second,we test the expression of vcam-1 on the aortic wall.Furthermore,we observe the formation of atherosclerotic plaque by naked eye and optical microscope.Results:1.Tiaozhitang can effectively lower the level of TG,TC,LDL-C in serum of rabbit(TG,TC P < 0.01;LDL-C P < 0.05 compared with model group),promote the level of HDL-C in serum of rabbit(p< 0.01 compared with model group),2.inhibit the expression of vcam-1 on the aortic wall(p < 0.01 compared with model group).3.The naked eye and optical microscope observation shows Tiaozhiang effectively reduces the formation of the atherosclerotic plaque.Conclusions:Tiaozhitang can be effective in ameliorating the status of hyperlipidemia,combating to the happening of hyperlipidemia caused by high fat diet.Inhibit the expression of vcam-1 on the artery wall to reduce the fat particle deposition on the artery wall,playing a role of prevention and treatment for hyperlipidemia-induced atherosclerosis...
