| Objective: Aberrant expressions of CK19,Ki67 and VEGF have been found in papillary thyroid carcinoma. Therefore,we examined the expressions of these proteins in primary tumor samples of papillary thyroid carcinoma and some benign thyroid masses(benign thyroid papillary hyperplasia and thyroid adenoma) ,discussed their diagnostic value .Methods: Expression of CK19 , Ki67 and VEGF were examined by immunohistochemical staining in 30 cases with papillary thyroid carcinoma,20 cases with papillary thyroid hyperplasia and 20 cases with thyroid adenomas. The difference of CK19,Ki67 and VEGF between the papillary thyroid carcinoma group,papillary thyroid hyperplasia group and thyroid adenomas group,the area under ROC curve,the sensitivity and the specificity of these indexes were analyzed.Results: The rates of immuno-positive staining of CK19 in papillary thyroid carcinoma were 83.3%,in papillary thyroid hyperplasia were 25%,and in thyroid adenomas were 15%. The positive expression rates of Ki-67 in the papillary thyroid carcinoma were 66.7%,in thyroid papillary hyperplasia and thyroid adenoma were 20% and 25%,respectively. The positive expression rates of VEGF in the papillary thyroid carcinoma were73.3%,in thyroid papillary hyperplasia and thyroid adenoma were 30% and 20%,respectively and there was a significant difference in its expression rate between the papillary thyroid carcinoma and the other two tissues. The AUROC of CK19,Ki67 and VEGF were 0.868,0.752 and 0.781,respectively. The diagnostic sensitivity and specificity were 83.3 % and 80. 0% for CK19,66.6 % and 77.5 % for Ki67,and 73.3 % and 75.0% for VEGF respectively.Conclusion: The expression levels of CK19,Ki67 and VEGF are significantly higher in papillary thyroid carcinoma than those in benign thyroid papillary hyperplasia and thyroid adenoma,which maybe of some diagnostic value clinic . CK19,Ki67 and VEGF expression can be important factors for identifying the benign and malignant tumor and their biological behaviors. |
