Study On The Quantitative Differentiation Of Chinese Medical Syndrome And The Development Rule Of Chinese Medical Syndromes Of Viral Pneumonia In Children

Objective: To identify the TCM syndromes according to clinical quantitative data such as those get from laboratory testing with modern technologic methods and then the degree of objectivity and accuracy can be improved. On the other hand, the author want to make a scientific approach to the syndrome rule of the viral pneumonia in children so as to get reference for preventing and treating.Method: Directed by the theory and method of identification of TCM, Our study adopt the authorized criterion of identification and used the methods of population-control study and cross-sectional study in modern epidemiology for reference. 240 patients' clinical data were collected from six hospitals in Changsha, Dong'an, Hunan province; Guangzhou, Guangdong province; Nanning, Liuzhou, Guangxi Chuang Municipality and. Objective clinical data that may be used in identification can be selected out to dispose with analysis of variance and discriminant analysis in turn and then discriminant functions of each type of syndrome can be worked out. We also analyzed the data to help to clarify the development rule of Chinese Medical syndromes. First, we divided the courses of each patient into various phases according to the Chinese Medical clinic data. Second, judge the pattern of each phase on the basis of authorized criterion. At last, analyze the characters of patterns caused by various virus and the change of the patterns.Results: 21 indexes which had been found differences among various TCM patterns of viral pneumonia were put forward and four main patterns' discriminant functions have been worked out. The characters of patterns caused by four main virus and the change of the patterns have been also worked out.Conclusions: Four main patterns' discriminant functions have been worked out to help to identify TCM patterns of the disease as a assistant diagnostic measure and a validity check. It is a attempt to regularize the criterion of identification and make it an objective one so we can identify and treat the disease more reasonable. But their veracity and practicability are still need to be proved in clinical practice. In the last chapter the characters of pneumonia caused by different virals and the development rule of TCM syndrome is clarified. We can prevent and treat the disease with TCM therapies according to this rule.
