[Objective]To investigate the relation and the mechanism between knocked-down endotoxemia by intragastric administration with gentamicin and lactulose and stress ulcer with obstructive jaundice in rats, and to discuss the process that to depress the incidence of the stress ulcer in the patient of obstructive jaundice for preoperative or postoperative.[Methods]Forty male wistar rats were divided into 4 groups as follows: jaundice(Ligation of the bile duct) by intragastric administration with Gentamicin and lactulose(group A),jaundice with glucose(group B),sham operation group with gentamicin and lactulose(group C) and sham operation group with glucose (group D).Two weeks after the operation intragastric administration were given for 7 days, and then the water immersion and restraint procedures were performed in these 4 groups.Endotoxemia from portal vein was measured by the limulus test and the ulcer index was calculated in rats which were given water- immersion - restraint(WIR) stress.[Results]The group A showed significantly lowerer in ulcer index and the contents of endotoxemia compared to group B,the contents of endotoxemia and ulcer index in groupB were increased, the group C,D aLso showed lowerer in ulcer index and the contents of endotoxemia.[ConcLusions]To lower the contents of endotoxemia useing intragastric administration with gentamicin and lactulose can degrade disease incidence of the stress ulcer in rats of obstructive jaundice;Endotoxemia indicates an important contribution in stress ulcer with obstructive jaundice. It is possible to depress the incidence of the stress ulcer in the patient of obstructive jaundice for preoperative or postoperative.
