Purpose: To observe the effect of percutaneous coronary intervene- tion(PCI) on brain natriuretic peptide (BNP) level and short-term heart function evaluated with 2D Doppler echocardiogram in patients with acute myocardial infarctionMethods:1. Patient SelectionThere are total 63 patients with AMI attending this study and was divided into two groups randomly: PCI group and the control group. There was no significant difference in age, gender, weight and so on, all patients were informed consent.2. MethodsThe control group treated with Aspirin, Clopidogrel Hydrogen, Low Molecular Heparin, nitrate, Statins,β-blocker, angiotensin converting enzyme inhibitor, angiotensin receptor blockersⅡand so on, PCI group treated with coronary arteriongraphy and PCI treatment based on those treatments. The expression of BNP mRNA was detected with RT-PCR method and the content of BNP in blood was detected with ELISA method in pre-operative time and 1-week-post-operative time. Evaluate the left ventricular morphology, heart function and regional wall motion integration of patients in the two groups were determined with 2D Doppler echocar- diogram in pre-operative time,1-week-post-operative time, 3-months–post– operative time. Results:1. The changes of BNP mRNA in blood in pre-operative time and post-operative time of two groups: compared with pre-operative time, the level of BNP mRNA decreased in PCI group and the control group in 1-week-post-operative time (P<0.05). Compared with control group in 1-week-post-operative time, the level of BNP mRNA decreased in PCI group (P<0.05).2. The changes of BNP contents in blood in pre-treatment and 1 week after treatment in the two groups: compared with pre-treatment, the BNP contents decreased in PCI group and the control group in1 week , 3 month after treatment (P<0.05). Compared with control group in 1-week- post-operative time, the BNP contents decreased in PCI group (P<0.05).3. The changes of 2D Doppler echocardiogram in pre-treatment and 1 week , 3 month after treatment in the two groups: After 1 week , left ventricular ejection fraction(LVEF) increased, wall motion score index (WMSI) decreased in PCI group , compared with pre-treatment, there was significant difference(P<0.05) , LVEF increased in PCI group after 1 week, compared with control group, there was significant difference(P<0.05) , there was no significant difference significant changes of left ventricular end-diastolic volume (LVEDV) and WMSI in PCI group after 1 week, compared with pre-treatment and control group after 1 week; After 3 month, LVEF increased, WMSI decreased in PCI group, compared with pre- treatment, there was significant difference(P<0.05), When compared with control group , there was also significant difference in LVEF, LVEDV and WMSI(P<0.05); In control group, there was no significant difference significant changes after 1 week and 3month of LVEF, LVEDV and WMSI compared with pre-treatment .
