Clinical And Experimental Study Of Fu Fang Chang Tai In The Treatment Of Colorectal Cancer

Objective: To observe the therapeutic effect of Chemo. Folfox4 plus TCM Fu Fang Chang Tai in the treatment of postoperative colorectal cancer and its effect on human colon cancer cell line SW480 and Nude-mouse Transplanted Tumor.Methods: In clinical observation,30 postoperative colorectal cancer patients are allocated randomly into Control and Experiment group respectively. Patients in Experiment group are given Fu Fang Chang Tai and Folfox4 treatment. Patients in Control group are given Folfox4 treatment. After 2 periods of treatment, the change of symptoms, Karnofsky Performance Status, quality of life, the tumor marks, immune parameters and side effects of drugs are compared. In experimental study, the effect of suppressing SW480 cells is observed with MTT method; Build SW480 Nude-mouse Transplanted Tumor model, and observe the suppressing effect on tumor and compare it to 5-Fu.Results: Clinical observation:1. Symptoms: The improvement rate of symptoms is 86.6% in Experiment group, and 53.3% in Control group. The difference is statistically significant.2.After the treatment, KPS is stable in Experiment group, and decreased in Control group.3. QOL is increased in Experiment group, and stable in Control group after the treatment.4. Tumor mark CEA is decreased and CA199 is stable in Experiment group. In Control group, CEA and CA199 are both stable.5. For impact of immunity parameters, there is an enhancement of ratio of CD3 and CD4 in Experiment group, while they do not change in the Control group.6. In experiment group, WBC reducing rate is slighter than that of Control group. The differences are not remarkable in PLT reducing, alimentary response, toxic of liver and kidney and toxic of nervous system.Experimental study: With MTT method, Fu Fang Chang Tai does not show obvious effect on suppressing SW480 cells; While in Nude-mouse Transplanted Tumor, the effect is remarkable. Tumor weight is obviously decreased compared to control group, and mouse-weight is not decreased compared to 5-Fu group.Conclusions: The clinical observation shows that the remedy of Chemo. Folfox4 plus TCM Fu Fang Chang Tai could effectively enhance KPS, improve the symptoms, the quality of life and the immunity state, and down-regulate the side effects. All in all, it can decrease the toxic, as to increase the treatment effect. The effect of Fu Fang Chang Tai suppressing tumor is showed in the experimental study, the way of which should be researched further.
