Objective The aim of this study was to explore the expression and significance of Pokemon,E2F1 in NSCLC(non-small cell lung cancer,NSCLC) and normal lung tissue,discuss the action of Pokemon,E2F1 in the occurance and development of NSCLC,and the relationship between their expression.Methods The expression of Pokemon and E2F1 were detected by using immunohistochemical techniques(S-P) in 65 cases of NSCLC specimens,20 cases of normal lung tissue.The data was analyzed by SPSS13.0,x~2 -test and Spearmans rank correlation analysis were used to analyze the difference between groups.a=0.05 was considered as statistically significant value.Results①The positive expression rates of Pokemon in NSCLC tissues was 70.8%(46/65),but no expression in normal lung tissues,There was a significant difference between the tumor tissues and nomal lung tissues(P<0.05).The positive expression rates of E2F1 in NSCLC tissues and normal lung tissues were 55.4% (36/65) and 30%(6/20),There was a significant difference between the tumor tissues and nomal lung tissues(P<0.05).②The positive expression of Pokemon was 86.1%(31/36)and 51.7%(15/29) in lower diferentiation tumor tissues and in higher diferentiation tumor tissues,There was a significant difference between in the lower diferentiation tumor tissues and in the higher diferentiation tumor tissues(P<0.05).The positive expression of Pokemon was 84.6%(33/39)and 50.0%(13/26) in lymph node metastasis tumor tissues and in no lymph node metastasis tumor tissues,There was a significant difference between in the lymph node metastasis tumor tissues and in no lymph node metastasis tumor tissues(P<0.05).The positive expression of Pokemon was 56.4%(22/39)and 92.3%(24/26) inⅠ-Ⅱstage tumor tissues and inⅢ-Ⅳstage tumor tissues,There was a significant difference between inⅠ~Ⅱstage tumor tissues and inⅢ-Ⅳstage tumor tissues(P<0.05).There was a significant difference between inⅠ~Ⅱstage tumor tissues and inⅢ-Ⅳstage tumor tissues(P<0.05).There was correlated to diferentiation,lymph node metastasis,clinical stage with the positive expression of Pokemon(P<0.05),but not to age,male and pathological profile(P>0.05).The positive expression of E2F1 was 68.6%(24/35)and 40.0%(12/30) in squamuos cell carcinoma and adenocarcinoma.There was a significant difference between in squamuos cell carcinoma and adenocarcinoma(P<0.05).The positive expression of E2F1 was 69.2%(27/39) and 38.5%(10/26) in lymph node metastasis tumor tissues and in no lymph node metastasis tumor tissues,There was a significant difference between in the lymph node metastasis tumor tissues and in no lymph node metastasis tumor tissues(P<0.05).The positive expression of E2F1 was 46.3%(17/39)and 73.1%(19/26) inⅠ-Ⅱstage tumor tissues and inⅢ-Ⅳstage tumor tissues,There was a significant difference between inⅠ-Ⅱstage tumor tissues and inⅢ-Ⅳstage tumor tissues.There was a significant difference between inⅠ-Ⅱstage tumor tissues and inⅢ~Ⅳstage tumor tissues(P<0.05).There was correlated to pathological profile, lymph node metastasis,clinical stage with the positive expression of E2F1(P<0.05),but not to age,male and diferentiation(P>0.05).③The correlation of Pokemon and E2FI:In all of 65 tumor tissues,24 cases were positively expression of Pokemon and E2F1,and 6 were negatively.We test the correlation between Pokemon and E2F1 by spearman correlation.There was a significant difference between Pokemon and E2F1.The expression of Pokemon was positively correlated with that of E2F1(rs=0.336,P<0.05).Conclusion Pokemon and E2F1 proteins may play an important role in the occurance and development of NSCLC.The expression of Pokemon was positively correlated with that of E2F1.Both These findings suggest that Pokemon and E2F1 may become the useful markers and may offer an effective new target for cancer therapeutics.
