After the Reform and Opening, a lot of changes had been occurred in rural area. But the imbalance status between urban and rural areas formed in a long run had not been changed at all. Thus in the end, the differences between urban and rural areas became greater and greater. At the same time, the security system in rural areas was lagging behind of that in the city. So it was very urgent to study the health status of rural people, especially the poverty population in those areas.Currently, the evaluation of quality of life was mainly through measuring table. SF-36 health survey is a multi-purpose, short health survey scales. It had been validated by many different countries and had been proved to exhibit with relatively good reliability, validity and practicability. In the Chinese edition, some of the items in SF-36 health survey had been optimized according to Chinese culture and reality characteristics. In this survey, the quality of life had been investigated towards rural population with different incomes in the villages of Xiuyan Cournty, Anshan City, Liaoning Province. The factors that affected people's quality of life had been analyzed. The results would provide scientific basis for establishing and improving the suburban health service policy in relevant departments of the government. And it also had great practical significances towards quality of life improvement in rural population, especially towards those rural poverty populations.Object and MethodsResearch ObjectFive natural villages whose living was relied on cultivation in Xiuyan County had been selected. And 180 families had been arbitrary selected in each village. In each family, one mature person had been pointed as the research object. The age of this object must be above 18 years old.Research MethodsAll of the investigators were majored in Medicine and were at least undergraduates. They all accepted some special training about how to perform investigation. And all the questionnaires were filled in by the investigator themselves. One to one mode was adopted in this survey. During the explanation of questionnaires, it was asked that the investigator should explain them in more detail and more clearly. When they were asked, it was necessary for the investigator to answer all those questions in a way that could be easily understood. Totally, there were 892 people attended in this survey.Research contentThe questionnaires were including basic situations and SF-36 health measuring table. The basic situations survey was mainly focused on the basic status of the person who filled in the table and his or her family. It included the gender, age, education level, health status, monthly income and outcome, cost of education and medication as well as debts status, et al.SF-36 health survey contains 36 items. One of its items, the changes of health status, was used to evaluate the subjective feelings towards general health status changes. The other items had formed 8 dimensions that included Physiological Function (PF), Role of Physiology (BP), Body Pain (BP), General Health (GH), Vitality (VT), Social Function (SF), Role of Emotion (RE), and Mental Health (MH). After these eight dimensions had been analyzed by factor analysis, two general measurements of health had been formed. One of them is physiology general health measurement (PCS), which included PF, RP, BP and GH. VT, SF, RE and MH belonged to another, mental general health measurement (MCS).Analysis methodsCronbach's a coefficient was used to assess the inner consistent reliability of SF-36 health survey. The validity of the measuring table was analyzed based on integration validity, classification validity and structural validity. After the analysis, each dimension of the physiology health and mental health were scored. Then the quality of life status was analyzed after the obtained scores were subdivided according to general factors like age, gender and incomes, et al. By using the method of Logistic Regression Analysis and the general status as independent variations, the factors that have affected physiological and mental health as well as the influences that posed by medication and education burden to the population were analyzed.SPSS 13.0 software was used for data input, arrangement, validation and analysis. The statistical methods used include Factor analysis, Logistic regression analysis, T-test and ANOVA analysis, et al.ResultsThe fairly good reliability and validity of SF-36 health survey after used in the investigation of rural population in Xiuyan County had been confirmed.Quality of life:The quality of life status of the population decreased when the population was aging. The quality of life scores of each dimension in males were higher than those of the females. In certain age groups, the quality of life became better when their incomes increased. For those populations without medication and education burdens, their quality of life was significantly better. The education level, debts status, nutrition status and sleep status could affect the health status of rural population. Among these, both the debt status and sleep status could affect the physiology and mentality.Conclusion1,The quality of life of rural population in Xiuyan County decreased with aging.2,The quality of life of rural population in Xiuyan County increased with income increment.3,The quality of life of males was better than females in rural population of Xiuyan County.4,The debt status, nutrition status and sleep status were influencing factors on the physiology health of the rural people in Xiuyan County. While the debt status, sleep status and work strength were influencing factors on the mental health.
