Tinea pedis is a very common fungal infectious disease caused by the Dermatophyte invading the degiti pedis, voix pedis, calear pedis and lateral pedis with the characteristic of strong infectiousness, high incidence, easy recurrence as well as reinfection, and it has a severe influence to the patient's life. The main pathogen of the Tinea pedis is the Trichophyton rubrum, but the pathogen strain and endemic distribution varies largely, even the same strain in the same area can mutate. However, the detailed epidemiology investigation data of the Tinea pedis and Pathogen in coal miner of Jincheng city has not been reported. Objective:To investigate the Tinea pedis morbidity and determine the main Pathogen endemic distribution in coal miner of Changping Coal Limited Company in Shanxi Province, and provide some guideline for the dermatosis prevention. Methods:All the coal miners worked during October 2008 to September 2009 were enrolled by a healthy examinationin Wangtai Hospital of Changping Coal Limited Company in this survey, and the case history inquiry and the pedis examination were carried out by the dermatologist, and then the suspects were processed to fungus microscopic examination and fungus culture identification. At the same time, the investigation of the clinical types was performed and all the healthy examination forms were filled. The patients who have typical skin lesions were processed to fungus culture for pathogen analysis. Results:The incidence of the Tenea Pedis in the coal miner is 25.1%, and it increases with the age in every age groups and work age groups. The incidence in miners with over 5 years of work age is significantly high than that of the miners with work age below 5 years (P<0.01), and the incidence in the type of work in production, which includes the first line type (for mining and tunneling) and second line type (for ventilation, transportation and electromechanical) has no significant difference (P>0.05). The main clinical type of the Tinea Pedis is infiltrative erosive type with the percentage of 41.3, and the fungus culture result is 53 strains of T.rubrum (60.9%),26 strains of T.mentagrophytes (29.9%),6 strains of M.canis (6.9%) and 2 strains of C.albicans (2.3%). Among the three types of tinea pedis, T.rubrum is the primary pathogen in hyperkeratosis type and dipping erosive type, which accounts for 54.5% and 73.2%, respectively while in vesicular scaly type, T.mentagrophytes, as the main pathogen, accounts for 54.2%.Conclusion:The Tenea Pedis incidence in the coal miners decreased significantly than that in 20 years before, but the coal miners are still a high risk population because of their special working condition; therefore the healthy education and preventive measures should be enhanced. The pathogen of the Tenea Pedis in coal miners of Jincheng city is a kind of simple, and the prominent pathogen is T.rubrum and secondly T.mentagrophytes. Among the three types of tinea pedis, hyperkeratotic type and impregnation erosive pathogens mainly T.rubrum and blister scaly type as the main pathogen T.mentagrophytes.The investigation on the coal miners tinea pedis occupational prevention, diagnosis and treatment has a certain reference value.
