| Objectives: To further study the difference of BuYangHuanWu Decoction on hemorheology between the senile rat and the young rat, and to investigate the mechanism of BuYangHuanWu Decoction on improving blood stasis syndrome from the constituents of erythrocyte membrane, and to provide some experimental evidences for reasonably using BuYangHuanWu Decoction in clinic.Methods: The experiment takes the senile rats as the model groupe and the young rats as the control group, and gives the senile rats BuYangHuanWu Decoction for nineteen day.The blood are taken to measure the whole blood viscosity,plasma viscosity,hematocrit,red blood cell deformability index,and the erythrocyte membrane are taken to measure the contents of cholesterol,sialic acid,sulfhydryl and malodialdehyde, superoxide dismutase activity,Na+-K+-ATPase activity for discussing the mechanism.Results:â‘ the whole blood viscosity and plasma viscosity of the senile rat are significantly higher than that of the young rat(P<0.05),the red cell deformability index is lower than that of the young rat(P<0.05), BuYang HuanWu Decoction could reduce the whole blood viscosity and plasma viscosity of the senile rat, and improve the red cell deformability index (P<0.05) ;â‘¡the content of membrane cholesterol of the senile rat is significantly higher than that of the young rat(P<0.01) and the content of sialic acid is lower than that of the young rat(P<0.05), BuYangHuanWu Decoction can obviously decrease the content of cholesterol(P<0.05) and increase the content of sialic acid in erythrocyte membrane (P<0.05);â‘¢SOD activity in erythrocyte membrane of the senile rat is lower and the content of MDA is higher than that of the young rat, BuYangHuanWu Decoction can improve the SOD activity and lower the content of MDA(P<0.05).Cunclusions:â‘ The senile rat could be the natural blood stasis model for the research on the HuoxueHuayudrugs(Drugs for activating blood circulation to remove stasis);â‘¡The experimental results indicate that BuYangHuanWu Decoction can lower markedly the whole blood viscosity,plasma viscosity and improve the red cell deformability index of the senile rat through increasing the content of sialic acid and reducing the content of cholesterol in erythrocyte membrane, and enhancing the activity of anti-oxidation of the body and therefore lessening the free radical's oxidation damage to the body. |
