ObjectiveTo construct operating room nurses competency model,and provide theoretical basis and practice guide for the selection,training,performance evaluation of operating room nurses.MethodsFirstly,"Operating room nurses competency dictionary"was obtained based on Literature analyses and Behavior event interview;Then"Operating room nurses competency questionnaires"was established based on"Operating room nurses competency dictionary",255 operating room nurses were investigated on their attitudes toward those competencies,confirm the cognition degree by operating room nurses,the importance and the internal structure of each competency, finally,"Operating room nurses competency model"was build based on factor analysis and analytic hierarchy process;At the end of the research,explore the application and significance of"operating room nurses competency model".Results1."Operating room nurses competency model"including Professional basic skills,Interpersonal skills,Career development ability,Individual characteristic 4 factors and 17 specific competencies,Weight of 4 factors were 0.2808,0.2722,0.1865, 0.2605.2.In the factor of Professional basic skills,weight of professional basic knowledge and technology,knowledge update and application ability,the use ability of medical instruments and surgical instruments were 0.1237,0.0695,0.0876;In the factor of Interpersonal skills,weight of communication ability,team spirit,interpersonal insight were 0.0881,0.1337,0.0504 ; In the factor of Career development ability,weight of inquisitiveness,conceptual thinking,awareness of occupational protection,judgement and response capabilities,concerned about the quality and order of work were 0.0203,0.0256,0.0859,0.0238,0.0309;In the factor of Individual characteristic,weight of self-confidence,attention to detail,vigorous and nimble,self-control,the sense of responsibility,initiative were 0.0354,0.0435,0.0347,0.0212,0.0808,0.0449. 3.The survey result showed: Operating room nurses of different title toward the important appraisal of competencies have not the difference;Operating room nurses of different age,education and working life toward the important appraisal of competencies existence difference.4.Operating room nurses competency model have important theory significance and practice value for operating room nurses in the selection,training,performance evaluation,inspire,ect.
