| Objective To observe and evaluate the clinical effects of periarthritis of shoulder treated with Hegu-acupuncture.Methods 60 cases of patients with periarthritis of shoulder were divided into the treatment, group and the control group randomly, with the treatment group treated with Hegu-acupuncture while the control group treated with routine acupuncture. The clinical effects of the two groups were compared through evaluating the pain of the shoulder, range of motion of the shoulder (ROM), activities of daily living (ADL), muscle strength, and the form of the joint (F).Results 1. There is significant statistical differences between the two groups via Ridit analysis (P<0.05, with the total effective rate 96.67% in the treatment group, while 80% in the control group respectively), which shows that Hegu-acupuncture is superior to routine acupuncture.2. There is significant statistical differences between the score value of the function of the shoulder after treatment in the two goups respectively (P<0.01), which shows that it can improve the function of the shoulder by either Hegu-acupuncture or routine acupuncture, but Hegu-acupuncture is superior to routine acupuncture.3. There is significant statistical differences between the score value of the pain of the shoulder after treatment in the two goups respectively (P<0.01), which shows that Hegu-acupuncture is superior to routine acupuncture.4. There is significant statistical differences between the score value of the range of motion of the shoulder after treatment in the two goups respectively (P<0.01), which shows that Hegu-acupuncture is superior to routine acupuncture. Conclusion It can improve the function of the shoulder of the patients with periarthritis of shoulder by either Hegu-acupuncture or routine acupuncture, while Hegu-acupuncture is superior to routine acupuncture. |
