Objective:To investigate the method using LISS (less invasive stabilization system) as internal fixed devices treatment for proximal tibia fractures comparing with the methods and the short-term clinical result of using an ordinary blade plate. Method:Since June 2007 to September 2008, we collected the patients of proximal tibia fractures in total 42 cases, including of 18 patients of LISS blade plate and 24 patients of the ordinary steel plates. After operation, take normal precautions against infection and medication treatment such as stanching bleeding, booting fracture healing and generally no need outside fixes. Results:All cases by the two groups after 3-14 months of follow-up, No fracture displacement, wound infection, joint infections, loss reduction, internal fixation loosening, fixation failure, etc. Clinical healing of fractures in both, Two knee range of activity compared, LISS plate group 88.9% excellent and good rate and Steel Group common good rate 79.1% (P<0.05); By Johner-Wruhs compared to evaluate the efficacy, LISS plate group rate of 88.9% excellent, excellent and good rate of ordinary steel group 83.3% (P<0.05). Conclusion:LISS plate fixation for the treatment of metaphyseal fractures of the proximal tibia with less blood loss, fixed firmly, clinical healing time is short, good recovery of limb function, a better clinical effect of the recent fractures, etc.
