Objective:This research has discussed the affects of elderly chronic heart failure (CHF) on peripheral blood lymphocytes apoptosis, estimated the peripheral blood lymphocytes apoptosis rate of different heart function degrees in patient with chronic heart failure, and analyzed the effect of left ventricular systolic function indicators, age on peripheral blood lymphocytes apoptosis.Method:1. To meet the criteria for 56 cases of CHF group,40 cases of patients have no CHF but other cardiovascular disease as control group that their clinical datas were collected.2. Peripheral blood lymphocytes apoptosis rate detection:Used to detect peripheral blood lymphocytes apoptosis rate of all research subjects with the Flow cytometry.3. Measurement of left cardiac function:Measured the left cardiac function of all research subjects by the heart color Doppler, and calculated the left ventricular ejection fraction (EF), cardiac output (CO) and stroke volume (SV).4. Contrasted basic clinical datas and peripheral blood lymphocytes apoptosis rate between the two groups, evaluated the peripheral blood lymphocytes apoptosis rate of different NYHA degrees and different age groups in CHF patients, explored the relationship between peripheral blood lymphocytes apoptosis rate and EF, and analyzed various influence factors of peripheral blood lymphocytes apoptosis rate in CHF patients by multiple linear regression analysis.Result:1.①There were not statistically significant differences on age, sex between the two group (P>0.05).②There were not statistically significant on cardiovascular historys and smoking between the two group (P>0.05), CHF group has a history of arrhythmia patients significantly more than Cardiovascular Disease-no CHF group(P<0.01).2. The peripheral blood lymphocyte apoptosis of CHF group (14.17%±4.89%) was higher than those Cardiovascular Disease-no CHF group (9.57%±3.18%), the difference was statistically significant (P<0.05).3.①Compared to the peripheral blood lymphocyte apoptosis of NYHA-Ⅱgroup (11.96%±3.05%), those of NYHA-Ⅲgroup (15.60%±2.68%) and the NYHA-Ⅳgroup (18.15%±3.16%) significantly increased, the difference were statistically significant (P<0.05).②Compared to the peripheral blood lymphocyte apoptosis of NYHA-Ⅲgroup (15.60%±2.68%), those of NYHA-Ⅲgroup (18.15%±3.16%) was significantly increased, the difference was statistically significant (P<0.05).4.①Contrasted to the peripheral blood lymphocyte apoptosis of EF> 50% group (9.5%±1.57%), those of 50%≥EF>40% group (10.42%±2.09%), the difference was not statistically significant(P>0.05), those of he EF≤40% group (15.01%±3.15%) increased, the difference was statistically significant (P<0.01).②Contrasted to the peripheral blood lymphocyte apoptosis of 50%≥EF>40% group (10.42%±2.09%), those of he EF≤40% group (15.01%±3.15%) increased, the difference was statistically significant (P<0.01).5.①Contrasted to the peripheral blood lymphocyte apoptosis of the age of 60-69 aged group (8.59%±1.45%), those of the 70-79 aged group (11.76%±2.14%) increased, the difference was statistically significantly (P<0.05), and those of age≥80 aged group (13.69%±1.71%) increased, the difference was statistically significant (P<0.01).②Contrasted to the peripheral blood lymphocyte apoptosis of the 70-79 aged group (11.76%±2.14%), those of age≥80 aged group (13.69%±1.71%) increased, the difference was statistically significant. 6. In multiple linear regression analysis, the history of hypertension, diabetes, coronary artery disease, pulmonary heart disease, arrhythmia, smoking history and NYHA classification was positively correlated with peripheral blood lymphocyte apoptosis (P <0.05), EF were negatively correlated with peripheral blood lymphocyte apoptosis(P>0.05) in all research subjects, and gender, SV, SBP, TC, TG, LDL-C, HDL-C, FBG,2h-PBG were no significant correlation (P> 0.05)..Conclusion:1. The peripheral blood lymphocyte apoptosis of CHF group were higher than those of Cardiovascular Disease-no CHF group, chronic heart failure may increase the peripheral blood lymphocytes 2. With the aggravation of cardiac function, peripheral blood lymphocytes apoptosis rate increased in chronic heart failure patient.3. In elderly patients, with the increasing of age, peripheral blood lymphocyte apoptosis rate increased.4. In patients with chronic heart failure, the age, history of hypertension, diabetes, coronary artery disease, pulmonary heart disease, arrhythmia, smoking history and NYHA classification was positively correlated with peripheral blood lymphocyte apoptosis while EF showed a negatively correlation, and gender, SV, SBP, TC, TG, LDL-C, HDL-C, FBG, 2h-PBG were no significant correlation.
