Clinical Research Of Prunella Oral Liquid For Nontoxic Thyroid Nodular Goiter

ObjectivesObserve the clinical efficacy of Prunella oral liquid,Prunella oral liquid combine with Euthyrox for the"qi zhi tan zu"type of non-toxic nodular goiter, in order to provide the clinical basis for the safe and effective treatment of non-toxic nodular goiter.MethodAccording to the Diagnosis and treatment of thyroid diseases by Chinese guides and TCM standards, select 66 patients with "qi zhi tan zu" type of non-toxic nodular goiter from June 2010 to December 2010 at the Hospital of Guangdong Province. By visiting sequence, patiants were randomly divided into two groups(Prunella oral liquid treatment group with 33 patients,Prunella oral liquid combine with Euthyrox treatment group with 33 patients). Statistically, the differences of two groups were not significant in gender,age and condition(P>0.1), they were comparable. Use the clinical symptom score sheet,record list of nodular goiter to evaluate the two groups before treatment and three months after the treatment. Also observe the change of thyroid function, record the adverse reaction. input data accurately, using SPSS software (version 13.0) for statistical analysis. Measurement data between groups and within groups were analyzed with ANOVA and paired t test, chi-square test with enumeration data, grade data with Kruskal-wallis test. Eventually, analysis the results of the research.ResultsOn the basis of statistical analysis, the differences of base conditions between two groups were not significant and comparable. After three months of treatment, both groups can be effective in improving clinical symptoms, especially about the symptoms of neck swelling,sense of pharyngeal obstruction and the bitter sense in mouth. Prunella oral liquid treatment group can be effective in reducing the size of thyroid nodules, the Prunella oral liquid combine with Euthyrox treatment group can be effective in reducing the size of the thyroid gland and nodules. In both groups, the number of thyroid nodules is lack of statistically significant. During the treatment, the two groups showed no adverse reactions during the treatment,witch were associated with the use of medicines.ConclusionFor the patients of "qi zhi tan zu" type of non-toxic nodular goiter, after three months of treatment, both groups can be effective in improving the symptoms of neck swelling,sense of pharyngeal obstruction and the bitter sense in mouth. Prunella oral liquid treatment group can be effective in reducing the size of thyroid nodules. The Prunella oral liquid combine with Euthyrox treatment group can be effective in reducing the size of the thyroid gland and nodules. In both groups, the number of thyroid nodules was lack of statistically significant. Two programs in the three-month course of treatment did not cause significant changes in thyroid function, no obvious side effects, with good security, drug compliance in patients with high, can be popularized.
