The Clinical Study On Treating The Type-kidney Asthenia And Liver Excessive Of ADHD With Bushenyizhi Decoction

Objective: Hyperkinetic syndrome is also named Attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD), it is one of the psychological and behavioral disease of pediatrics. Its symptoms include attention deficiency, hyperactivity, impulsivity and learning difficulties, which are unsuited to age. With the development of social life, higher expectation of parents to children, environment, food and other pollution factor, the incidence of disease is increased every year. The etiology and pathogenesis are not clarified yet. Recently, most Modern medicine authors believe that the pathogenesis of this disease is related to biology, nerve, family, social, and environment. The disease was not discussed specially on Traditional Chinese Medicine(TCM), but it can be vested in the category of"hysteriform diseases""restlessness"and"forgettery""hearing loss". Its pathogenesis is regarded as the organs imbalance between yin and yang , it is yang moving more than yin, yin quiet enough.Those causes are the condition of congenital deficiency and lack of postnatal care. It involved in heart, liver, spleen and kidney.Recently,the Western medicine therapy prefers central stimulants, which has a significant effect in acute stage but with long treatment course, evident side effect and being subject to recrudesce. But TCM therapy is better due to long effective time, steady curative effect and less side effect. Mentors consider that the type-kidney asthenia and liver excessive of hyperactivity is the most common clinical type accordinng to the etiology and pathogenesis of this disease and its clinical experience. The therapy is regulating yin and yang, claming the nerves and improving intelligence. Meanwhile, she created Bushenyizhi Decoction to treat ADHD. In this topic, the effects and safeness of Bushenyizhi Decoction were verified by observing 80 patients,expiore its mechanism and offered some ideas for further research TCM. Methods: Firstly we analyzed the information of the clinical observation subjects. They took Bushenyizhi Decoction as treatment. We use TCM different syndrome score,impulsion index list and scratching test as outcome measures before and after the treatment. Meanwhile we had safety test of blood, urine, stool, the function of liver, kidney and ECG check. Also we recorded adverse events. The treatment course is 3 months. After the treatment, we did statistic analysis and got the results.Results:①With the standard of clinical curative effects: 10 were healed, 35 markedly improved, 33 improved and 2 showed no response. The marked effectiveness rate is 56.25%, the total effectiveness rate is 97.5%.②With the standard of curative effects in the TCM: 10 were healed, 35 markedly improved, 33 improved and 2 showed no response. The marked effectiveness rate is 56.25%, the total effectiveness rate is 97.5%.③As to the improvement of TCM syndrome, after the treatment there is significant difference in the primary syndrome such as hyperactivity, attention deficiency and school problem. Secondary syndrome had significant improvement(P<0.01) except the Hypoevolutism. After treatment, there is no significant difference about the Hypoevolutism (P>0.05).④On the change of total TCM syndrome score, there is significant difference after treatment by statistic analysis.(P<0.01)⑤On the change of impulsion index, there is significant difference after treatment by statistic analysis (P<0.01).⑥By statistic analysis,there is no significant difference on impulsion index above effective patients between treatment finish and further consultation 2 month later (P>0.05).⑦On the change of scratching test, there is no significant difference in the total scratching line and wrong scratching (P>0.05), the improvement on leaving out has significant difference (P<0.05),by statistic analysis.⑧By clinical observation, there does not appear adverse events in the 80 patients. The decoction is secure.Conclusion:①Bushenyizhi Decoction has showed obvious clinical effects to the type-kidney asthenia and liver excessive of hyperactivity, it could relief symptoms effectively.②There is no difference on impulsion index above effective patients between treatment finish and further consultation 2 month later. It showed that ADHD has a advantage in preventing recurrence.③No adverse reactions were found during the course of treatment with Bushenyizhi Decoction,it was suggested that Bushenyizhi Decoction is safe without side effects.
