Effect Of Decoction Of Sijunzi On The Gut Barrier Function Of The Hirschsprung's Disease

Objective:To investigate the effect of Decoction of Sijunzi on the gut barrier function of the Hirschsprung's disease.Methods:From January 2009 to January 2011,18 Hirschsprung's disease patients were collected in this study,8 of them were treated as control group and were given glucose water per oral lOd before operation. The other 10 cases were in experiment group and were give Decoction of Sijunzi per oral 10d before operation. The colon tissues of transition zone and dilated segments were collected for the study by light microscope and electric microscope. Immunohistochemistry method was employed to study the expression of IgA in the mucosa of colon.5 case of long sigmoid colon tissues were treated as non-HD group. SPSS 17.0 was used for the statistic analysis, P< 0.05 was considered with having significant difference.Results:Lighter microscope examination:The density of colon glands in dilated segments of experiment group was significantly higher than that of control group(P=0.001). The density of colon glands in non-HD group was significantly higher than that of control group, and have no significant difference with that of experiment group(P=0.128). The thickness of colonic mucosa in dilated segment of experiment group was significantly longer than that of control group (P=0.016) and have no significant difference with that of non-HD group. Electric microscope examination:most microvillus fall off from mucosal epithelium cells in colon tissues of control groups, the tight conjunctions between epithelium cells were loose while as the microvillus were almost intact and the tight conjunctions were compact. Immunohistochemistry examination:the positive rate of IgA in the mucosa of dilated segments in experiment group is significantly higher than that of control group, and have no significant difference with that of non-HD group.Conclusions:Decoction of Sijunzi may facilitate the repair of damaged epithelium of colon in HD patients, promote the synthesis and secretion of IgA by plasmacytes in lamina propria of colon, improve the gut barrier function of Hirschsprung's disease patients.
