| Objective To discussion the clinical value of acupuncture in IVF-ET; To evaluate the effect of acupunture that used in transvaginal ultrasound-guided oocyte retrievalMethods From September 2010 to January 2011 at the First Hospital of Lanzhou University, Research Centre for Reproductive Medicine,304 patients who was undergoing long protocol of gonadotropin releasing hormone agonist (GnRH-a) had be selected to divided into two groups by randomly, experimental group patients had be used acupuncture treatment during COH process, The control group patients had not used. From May 2010 to August 2010,409 patients had be randomly selected to divided into two groups who was undergoing transvaginai ultrasound-guided oocyte retrieval, experimental group patients had be used EA and dolantin for anesthesia in oocyte retrieval, the control group patients had be used dolantin only. Results There were no significant differences of clinical pregnancy rate and miscarriage rate between the two groups; in the two groups OHSS incidence rate, M II oocytes rate were significantly different (P<0.05); ectopic pregnancy rate was 0% in the acupuncture group and control group was 4.35%.In transvaginal ultrasound-guided oocyte retrieval, there were some significantly differents among the electro-acupuncture (EA) group and dolantin group. For example: pain ratings, intraoperative nausea, vomiting, sweating, and the rate of use of other tranquilizer drugs during surgery, all of these were lower than dolantin group in comparison with EA group. Conclusions Acupuncture treatment did not affect clinical pregnancy rate and the abortion rate in IVF-ET; Acupuncture can reduce the OHSS incidence rate; acupuncture treatment may reduce the ectopic pregnancy rate in IVF-ET. The use of electro-acupuncture (EA) in combination with dolantin reducing pain intensity of patients who undergoing transvaginal oocyte retrieval;it reduced adverse reactions such as nausea, vomiting, abdominal distension, sweating and other symptoms in oocyte retrieval; it reduced the utilization of other tranquillizer drugs. |
