| Objective:In recent years, anatomical locking plate and anatomical condylar buttress plate have been used in the treatment of distal femoral comminuted fractures, and the effect of treament is good. But the difference between two different fixations has not reported in the literatures. The aim of this paper is to compare the effect of locking plate and condylar buttress plate in the treatment of C3 type of distal femoral fractures, and help doctors select for the internal fixator. Methods:From 2008 to 2009,25 patients with C3 type of distal femoral fractures were treated with locking plate and condylar buttress plate in our hospital. We follow up the 25 cases, and then compare the effect of two different fixations in fracture clinical healing time, postoperative complication rate and the knee function with the Merchan standard score.Results:11 cases treated with locking plate, the average clinical healing time is 6.09±2.07 months. Postoperative complications included varus deformity in one, no deep wound infection occurred, all the fractures healed, no loosening or breakage of plate and screw occured, the postoperative complication rate is 9.09%.The knee function with the Merchan standard score in three patients are rated excellent, in six are rated as good, in one is rated as fair, and in one is rated as poor. The total rate of excellent and good cases is 94.74%.14 cases treated with condylar buttress plate, the average clinical healing time is 7.30±2.29 months.Postoperative complications included nonunion in one, varus deformity in three, loosening or breakage of plate and screw in one, no deep wound infection and osteomyelitis occurred, the postoperative complication rate was 35.71%.The knee function with the Merchan standard score in two patients are rated excellent, the results in seven are rated as good, the results in three are rated as fair, and the results in two are rated as poor. The total rate of excellent and good cases is 64.29%. The compare of fracture clinical healing time(Two sample t test), postoperative complication rate(Fisher exact test) and the knee function with the Merchan standard score(Fisher exact test) in two groups is statistically significant different (P<0.05).Conclusions:Anatomical locking plate is better than anatomical condylar buttress platefor the C3 type of distal femoral fractures. |
