Objective:To evaluate the feasibility and effectiveness of Shufeng heat swelling Liyan method with Western medicine in treating pediatric acute tonsillitis, to provide an effective treatment method and idea for clinical treatment.Methods:60 cases that met the diagnostic criterion of the syndrome of wind heat were selected; all subjects were divided randomly into two groups, treatment group (30 cases) and control group (30cases).Treatment group was treated with Western medicine therapy plus oral administration of Chinese herbal medicine, control group was simple to use Western medicine treatment, both groups are 5 days for a course of treatment, and then we observed the improvements of swollen tonsils, sore throat, fever, cough, wufeng and picture of the tongue efficacy before and after treatment.Results:The improvement of symptoms like swollen tonsils, sore throat, cough, picture of the tongue in the treatment group is better than that of the control group after treatment.the difference is statistically significant (P<0.05), the improvement of fever, wufeng symptom between the two groups, the differences are not statistically significant (P>0.05);The main symptom integral, secondary symptoms integral, total integral in the two groups, compared efficacy of treatment group are better than that of the control group.the change of swollen tonsils, sore throat and congestion symptom score, the main symptom score, the secondary symptom score, total score between two groups before and after treatment, the difference is significant (P<0.01);After treatment, swollen tonsils, sore throat and congestion symptom score, the change of main symptom score, secondary symptom score, total score comprehensive efficacy and recovery efficiency of treatment group is much better than that of the control group,the differences are statistically significant (P<0.05).Conclusion:Shufeng heat swelling Liyan method with Western medicine treating pediatric acute tonsillitis is feasibility and effectiveness, the change of main symptom score, secondary symptoms score, total score, swollen tonsils, sore throat, cough, picture of the tongue of treatment group is much better than that of the control group.
